🚆 Getting to Amex Stadium
Take the train to Falmer station, which sits right next to the stadium, on Southern services from Brighton (a few minutes) or from Lewes in the other direction.
Falmer is the matchday station: Southern trains run from Brighton station to Falmer in around seven to nine minutes, with extra services on matchdays, and the stadium is a short walk from the platform across the station bridge. Trains from the London direction connect at Brighton or Lewes, and Falmer is also one stop from Lewes. The club operates a free travel zone for league matches, under which home and away ticket holders can travel on buses and trains within the zone from 3.5 hours before kick-off until 3.5 hours after the final whistle by showing their match ticket. Brighton and Hove buses and Stagecoach services also serve the stadium area, and a managed queuing system operates at Falmer after the match, when waits for a train back to Brighton can be long.
Driving to the Amex itself is discouraged. There is no local street parking for supporters, because the streets around Falmer are covered by a residents parking scheme with enforcement on patrol. The club sells a limited number of spaces in advance in Car Park B (the Bridge) and Car Park C (University of Sussex), and all parking must be booked before matchday. The practical driving option is park and ride: sites at Mill Road and Brighton Racecourse open a few hours before kick-off on a first come, first served basis, with an additional pre-booked site at EDF, and shuttle buses run back for up to 90 minutes after the final whistle.
The club's official drop-off and pick-up point is at Car Park 5 within the University of Sussex, next to the sports hall; there are no stopping locations along Village Way or Woollards Way by the stadium.
🛏️ Where to stay near Amex Stadium
Base yourself in Brighton city centre or along the seafront. The ground is out at Falmer by the universities, with little around it, so almost everyone eats, drinks and stays in town and rides the short train out.
- Brighton city centre and The Lanes — The natural base: Brighton station for the Falmer train, plus the densest choice of pubs, restaurants and places to stay, all within walking distance of the station.
- Seafront and Kemptown — East of the centre along the seafront, with guesthouses and a lively evening scene; still an easy walk or short bus ride to Brighton station for matchday trains.
- Lewes — A smaller, quieter alternative east of Brighton: Falmer is one stop away by train, and the town is a calmer pre-match option than central Brighton.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Amex Stadium
Leave central Brighton earlier than you think: the Falmer trains are frequent but the queues at Brighton station and back at Falmer after full time are the defining feature of this away day.
- Use the free travel zone — For league matches your match ticket covers trains and buses within the club's travel zone from 3.5 hours before kick-off until 3.5 hours after the final whistle, so you only need a ticket to the edge of the zone (for example Haywards Heath, Worthing or Eastbourne) if you are coming from further away.
- Expect the post-match queue — After the final whistle a managed queuing system operates at Falmer station and the wait can stretch a long way. Many supporters stay in the concourses for a drink and let the queue clear rather than joining it at its peak.
- Away end is at the far end — Visiting supporters are housed in the South Stand, at the opposite end of the stadium from Falmer station, so allow a few extra minutes to walk around the ground to the away turnstiles.
Bags: Bags larger than A4 size (297mm x 210mm) are not allowed into the stadium, and any bags left outside will be removed. Travel light, as searches are completed before the turnstiles. Official policy.
