🚆 Getting to Angel Stadium
Most fans drive into the huge lot that surrounds the stadium, but the train is the sleeper pick — ARTIC station is a short walk from the gates.
ARTIC, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, sits just across SR-57 from the stadium and is reached through the Douglass Road gate — about a 10-minute walk. It serves Metrolink's Orange County Line, Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, and OCTA buses. Metrolink runs special Angels Express trains to ARTIC for select home games, arriving before first pitch and departing about 30 minutes after the final out.
Angel Stadium sits in the middle of one large official parking lot with over 12,000 spaces, entered from Douglass Road, State College Boulevard, and Orangewood Avenue. The lot opens 2.5 hours before first pitch, oversized vehicles enter on Orangewood Avenue, and accessible parking is available around Gates 1-6 and the Home Plate Gate. The stadium is right off the 57, 5, and 22 freeways.
Rideshare drop-off enters via Gene Autry Way, and the postgame pick-up zone is in the parking lot near Gate 1 toward left field, by the red rideshare light pole in front of the City National Grove of Anaheim.
🛏️ Where to stay near Angel Stadium
Most visiting fans base in the Anaheim Resort area near Disneyland, a short drive or shuttle away, since the stadium itself sits in a sea of parking lots with no walkable neighborhood.
- Anaheim Resort District — The Disneyland-centered hotel district a short distance west of the stadium — the default visitor base, with ART shuttle connections via ARTIC and plenty of family-oriented lodging and dining.
- Platinum Triangle / Katella corridor — The area immediately around Angel Stadium and ARTIC on Katella Avenue — the closest base to the gates, built around the stadium, arena, and transit center rather than a walkable neighborhood.
- Along the Metrolink Orange County Line — Staying near an OC Line station, from LA Union Station to South Orange County, lets you ride the train or Angels Express to ARTIC and walk through the Douglass Road underpass instead of driving and parking.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Angel Stadium
For a day game, pick the third-base side or a seat under the overhang — sun exposure on the first-base side is the one thing first-timers consistently underestimate here.
- Shade on the third-base side — SeatGeek's fan survey is blunt: make sure your seat is not in direct sun. The first-base side bakes during day games, while the third-base side and sections under the club level overhang provide the most shade.
- The Big A and its halo — The 230-foot Big A sign in the parking lot by the 57 Freeway is the park's iconic landmark and top photo op — its halo lights up after every Angels win.
- California Spectacular in center field — The center-field rock formation, with waterfalls and geysers that erupt after Angels home runs, gives the outfield a distinctly Southern California backdrop you will not find at any other MLB park.
