🚆 Getting to Citizens Bank Park
Take SEPTA's Broad Street Line south to NRG Station — it is the last stop on the line and a short walk from Citizens Bank Park.
The Broad Street Line, now SEPTA Metro's B line, runs south to NRG Station at Broad and Pattison, about a 5- to 7-minute walk from the ballpark, with local B1 and express B2 service. SEPTA operates special Sports Express trains on game days, and the line offers a free transfer from the Market-Frankford Line and trolley routes at 15th Street/City Hall, a short walk from Center City Regional Rail stations. SEPTA bus routes 4 and 45 provide direct service to the stadiums.
The park sits in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, accessible via I-95 and I-76, with extensive official lots surrounding it. All parking is cashless and general parking can be pre-purchased through the Phillies, while lots S, R, P and part of Q closest to the main gates are reserved for Preferred Parking Pass holders, and tailgating is permitted only in designated lots south of Pattison Avenue.
🛏️ Where to stay near Citizens Bank Park
Most visiting fans base themselves in Center City and ride the Broad Street Line straight to the park, since the Sports Complex itself is a stadium campus rather than a lodging neighborhood.
- Center City Philadelphia — The Broad Street Line runs directly from City Hall to NRG Station in about 15 minutes, with a free transfer from the Market-Frankford Line at 15th Street/City Hall. Staying in Center City puts the historic core, dining and Regional Rail connections on your doorstep.
- South Philadelphia — The neighborhoods north of the Sports Complex, along the Broad Street Line, include the East Passyunk dining corridor noted by SEPTA as a stop on the line. It offers a more local, rowhouse-neighborhood feel and a shorter ride to NRG Station than from further north.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Citizens Bank Park
Arrive early and walk Ashburn Alley before first pitch — it is the park's signature pregame stroll, with food, history and bullpen views.
- Walk Ashburn Alley — Named for Phillies Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn, Ashburn Alley stretches behind the outfield seating and packs in the Phillies Wall of Fame, food stands, the team store and a direct view into the visitors' bullpen. Chickie's & Pete's crab fries in Ashburn Alley were the most-mentioned food item in fan surveys.
- Look for the Liberty Bell and the skyline — A massive lighted Liberty Bell in left-center field rings and illuminates every time a Phillie hits a home run. The open outfield also frames views of the Center City Philadelphia skyline from inside the park.
- Plan for sun on the right-field and first-base side — The right-field and first-base side of the park gets the most sun, so a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen go a long way for a day game there. The park is cashless, including for parking, so bring a card or mobile payment.
Bags: Only clutch purses or fanny packs no larger than 5x7 inches, clear bags no larger than 12x6x12 inches, and medical and diaper bags are permitted, and non-clear bags including backpacks and drawstring bags are prohibited. Official policy.
