🚆 Getting to PNC Park
Ride Pittsburgh's 'T' light rail free from downtown to North Side Station, right outside the Home Plate entrance — or do what many fans do and walk across the pedestrian-only Roberto Clemente Bridge from downtown.
The T is free to ride between any downtown station and North Side Station, which sits right outside the PNC Park Home Plate entrance. Guides document parking at the First Avenue Garage downtown and riding the attached T station free to the park, plus South Hills park-and-rides such as South Hills Village and Washington Junction on the Red and Blue lines.
Closest to the gates are the North Shore Red Lots — Lots 5 and 6 are prepaid only — and the Blue garages northeast of the park, with Blue 10 the closest garage; Gold lots sit west toward Acrisure Stadium. Many fans instead park in downtown (Golden Triangle) garages, which guides describe as often cheaper, and walk the Clemente Bridge or ride the free T.
Designated rideshare zones are on Isabella Street east of the stadium and on Reedsdale Street on the west side by the Gold 1 garage.
🛏️ Where to stay near PNC Park
Stay either on the North Shore for a walk-to-the-gates trip, or downtown across the river for the Cultural District and the classic bridge walk to the game.
- North Shore — The stadium's own neighborhood along Federal Street, with restaurants and bars that become a game-day block party. Lodging here is steps from the park, the simplest base of all.
- Downtown Pittsburgh (Golden Triangle / Cultural District) — Directly across the Allegheny River, with the city's densest dining and theater scene. The game-day walk across the Roberto Clemente Bridge, or the free T to North Side Station, is part of the experience.
🎟️ Game-day tips for PNC Park
Make the arrival part of the trip: walk the Roberto Clemente Bridge from downtown, then take in the skyline-and-river view that makes PNC Park famous.
- The skyline view — PNC Park was designed for its backdrop — nearly every seat except the outfield bleachers looks out over the Allegheny River to the Roberto Clemente Bridge and the downtown skyline. Seats behind home plate and on the first-base side frame that view best.
- Walk the Clemente Bridge — On home game days the Roberto Clemente (6th Street) Bridge closes to cars and becomes pedestrian-only, connecting downtown to the park in about a 10-minute walk. It is widely described as one of the great ballpark arrivals in baseball.
- Covered upper rows for day games — The open design that creates the view leaves lower-level seats exposed, with almost no shade at field level for day games. Upper-deck seats behind home plate, in the back rows under cover, give both shade and the panoramic field-plus-skyline view.
Bags: Each guest may bring one soft-sided, single-compartment bag no larger than 16" x 16" x 8"; bags do not need to be clear, and all bags are subject to search. Official policy.
