🚆 Getting to Progressive Field
Take any RTA Rapid line — Red, Blue or Green — to Tower City, then use the enclosed Walkway to Gateway straight to the ballpark without going outside.
All three RTA rail lines converge at Tower City station, and from there the indoor, climate-controlled Walkway to Gateway leads directly to Progressive Field and Rocket Arena. The Red Line also runs directly from Cleveland Hopkins Airport to Tower City, and RTA's HealthLine bus-rapid transit on Euclid Avenue stops near the park as well.
The park sits in downtown's Gateway District, reached by I-90, I-71 and I-77, with the Gateway East Garage the primary team garage right by the ballpark and reservable in advance. SeatGeek's guide counts more than 20,000 parking spaces within a 10-minute walk, including the Tower City Center garages.
🛏️ Where to stay near Progressive Field
Stay downtown — Progressive Field is in the middle of it, so Gateway District and East 4th Street stays let you walk to the game and skip transit entirely.
- Downtown / Gateway District — The ballpark's own district, a five-minute walk to the gates and next to Rocket Arena. East 4th Street's dining row is the pregame and postgame center of the trip.
- Playhouse Square / East Downtown — A few blocks east of the park, still an easy walk or a short ride. Cleveland's theater district, a livelier evening base than the office core.
- Warehouse District — Just northwest of Tower City, on the same downtown grid and walkable to the park. An older warehouse neighborhood turned dining and nightlife area, handy for the lakefront and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Progressive Field
Use the Tower City walkway and then walk the park before you sit down — Heritage Park in center field is the stop first-timers most often miss.
- Heritage Park, beyond center field — The plaza behind center field holds plaques and statues honoring Cleveland baseball greats across more than a century of team history. It is an in-park hall of fame you can wander before first pitch.
- Skyline views from the first-base side — From many sections, especially along the first-base line, you see the downtown Cleveland skyline and the Hope Memorial Bridge with its Art Deco Guardians of Traffic sculptures — the figures that inspired the team's name. The tradeoff is evening sun on that side.
- Third base for shade — Fans and guides point to the third-base side for shade at evening and day games, while bleachers and upper seats can be fully exposed to the sun. In a park this small — the majors' smallest capacity — even the upper deck keeps you close to the action.
Bags: Fans are permitted to bring manufactured diaper bags, medical bags, clutches, and small bags not exceeding 16 x 16 x 8 inches. Official policy.
