🚆 Getting to Sutter Health Park
Transit is genuinely thin: there is no rail stop at this West Sacramento park — the practical transit option is a Yolobus bus to the Cabaldon Pkwy stop at the park, and most fans drive or walk across the Tower Bridge from downtown Sacramento.
Yolobus serves the park directly at the Cabaldon Pkwy at Sutter Health Park stop: Route 42A from Woodland and Sacramento International Airport, Route 42B from Davis, and local West Sacramento routes 37, 40, 41 and 240. Sacramento light rail does not cross the river to West Sacramento — Yolobus instructs light rail riders to exit the Blue Line at St. Rose of Lima Park (9th and K) or the Gold Line at 8th and K in downtown Sacramento and transfer to Route 42A for the ride across the Tower Bridge. Note the last post-game buses: the final Route 42B pickups are at 10:32 PM and 11:17 PM on weekdays and Saturdays.
ACE Parking runs the Preferred Lots in the Bridge District, with more than 5,000 spaces near the ballpark, the majority dedicated to Sutter Health Park events, and pre-purchase through ACE is encouraged as lots may reach capacity quickly. The named options are the VIP Green Lot (entrance on 5th Street), the Gold Lot (Ballpark Drive and Riverfront Street), the large Main Lot (entrances on 5th Street and Riverfront Street), the Black Lot on 5th Street, and the Ziggurat Garage on 3rd Street, with exits routing to US-50, the Tower Bridge and the I-Street Bridge.
The venue's A-Z guide puts rideshare drop-off and pick-up at the Rideshare Zone at 7th Street and Cabaldon Parkway, west of the park, and notes 5th Street is not an authorized rideshare drop-off location.
🛏️ Where to stay near Sutter Health Park
Most visiting fans base themselves across the river in downtown Sacramento or Old Sacramento and walk across the Tower Bridge, because lodging on the West Sacramento side is limited.
- Downtown Sacramento — Across the Sacramento River from the park, about a mile from Sacramento Station. The city's main hotel and dining base; from here it is a walk across the Tower Bridge or a short Yolobus ride to the gates.
- Old Sacramento — The historic waterfront district on the Sacramento side of the Tower Bridge. A walkable pre-game stop for food and sights before crossing the bridge to the ballpark.
- West Sacramento / Bridge District — The ballpark's own neighborhood, at Cabaldon Pkwy and Riverfront streets. Staying here puts you within walking distance of the park, but options are fewer and the area is more industrial than downtown Sacramento.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Sutter Health Park
Plan for sun: this is a small, open, minor-league park — about 14,000 capacity in total — with limited shade, so for a hot day game bring sun protection and consider the lawn's upper portion or an evening game.
- Toyota Home Run Hill lawn — Seating on Toyota Home Run Hill is general admission, so arrive early for the best spot. Blankets, towels and low-back lawn chairs with a seat no higher than 9 inches off the ground are permitted, and umbrellas are allowed if you sit in the upper portion of the lawn.
- Tower Bridge and skyline backdrop — The park sits on the West Sacramento riverfront across from downtown Sacramento, and the downtown skyline and the yellow Tower Bridge provide the backdrop for a game. Behind Home Run Hill, the kids' play area even features a Tower Bridge replica play structure, a misting pad and a wiffle ball field, free for children at games.
- An intimate, cashless park — With roughly 10,624 fixed seats and about 14,014 total capacity including the lawn and standing room, this is the smallest ballpark in MLB while the Athletics are here — every seat is close to the field. The park is cashless, mobile tickets are required for entry, and general gates open one hour before first pitch.
Bags: Fans must comply with the park's Clear Bag Policy — all belongings should be placed in a clear plastic bag and all bags are subject to search, though non-clear diaper bags are permitted and subject to search. Official policy.
