Ride light rail straight to the park: the METRO Blue and Green Lines both terminate at Target Field Station, directly adjacent to the ballpark.
Metro Transit's Blue Line travels between Mall of America and Target Field, serving MSP Airport on the way, and the Green Line links downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota and downtown St. Paul, also ending at Target Field. The station sits right next to the ballpark, and Metro Transit adds game-day service. Several Metro Transit bus routes also stop near the park.
About 7,000 spaces sit conveniently adjacent to Target Field in the ABC and Hawthorne ramps, with nearly 25,000 spaces in lots and ramps throughout downtown. 🛏️ Where to stay near Target Field
Most visiting fans base themselves in the North Loop / Warehouse District right around the park or in central Downtown, both an easy walk to the gates.
- North Loop / Warehouse District — The ballpark's own neighborhood, a vibrant district of converted 19th-century warehouses with restaurants, boutiques and breweries. You can walk to the gates and to the pre-game bars on Washington Avenue.
- Downtown Minneapolis — A short walk east of the park around Nicollet Mall, connected by the Skyway system, which lets fans walk indoors from many hotels and ramps toward the gates in bad weather. Best for a broader city weekend.
- Mall of America / Bloomington area — A budget-friendly alternative documented for Twins visitors: stay near the Mall of America and ride the Blue Line directly to Target Field Station at the stadium door, skipping downtown parking entirely.
🎟️ Game-day tips for Target Field
For an afternoon game, pick the third-base side — the first-base side and right field get the most sun, while the third-base side and left field shade out earlier.
- Third-base side for shade and skyline — Right field and the first-base side face the afternoon sun, while the third-base side shades earlier and frames the classic view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline beyond the outfield. Evening games showcase that skyline at sunset from the third-base side.
- Start at Target Plaza and Gate 34 — Target Plaza on the right-field side holds statues of Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew and Kirby Puckett and a 1,500-pound bronze glove, and Gate 34 is numbered for Puckett. Arrive early for the Gate 34 Experience plaza inside, with games, music and food before first pitch.
- Find the Minnie and Paul sign — The neon Minnie and Paul sign in center field, showing the two figures shaking hands across the Mississippi River, lights up and celebrates every Twins home run. The Twins-themed pub underneath it, Minnie and Paul's, is open to all guests.
